[UK] January sale started

Flower Cart

©2015 LEGO Group

The sale at shop.LEGO.com starts tomorrow. I have no idea what will be in it but I hope that this year it actually contains items that are not sold out before it even starts. The Sales and Deals page will show everything that's available. I'd check first thing in the morning if I were you.

Update: there are some reasonable discounts to be had but all the desirable sets are 'call to check product availability'.

Also, Slave 1, Birds and the Detective's Office will be available along with, I believe, Star Wars and DC Super Heroes although as I write this they are not shown on the What's New page.

If that's not enough, 40140 Flower cart is free with orders over £50. and it's possible that 30203 Friends Mini Golf will be free with Friends purchases and 30274 AT-DP will be free with Star Wars purchases, but I don't think the latter two have been confirmed for Europe and I can't find a January store calendar to check. I guess we'll see soon enough...

By in Netherlands,

Cool! happy new year everyone!

Gravatar
By in United States,

According to my U.S. Catalog that I received in the mail yesterday, all Star Wars and DC are set to be released upon the 1st of the New Year. Also, The Friends promotional is for any Lego Friends Purchase, and the AT-DP is for any Lego Star Wars purchase. The Flower Cart is for orders over $75. Again, that's what my U.S. Catalog says.

By in United Kingdom,

Fingers crossed that I can pick up 60051-1: High-Speed Passenger Train on a good deal. I've spent a lot of money on LEGO/Duplo sets recently and if I pay full price for that one too I think The Mrs might petition for a divorce. She already threatened me with the spare room after the boy and I told her we needed the dining table for our new railway and town project.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^^ thank you but this article is about the UK.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I should have noticed that. My apologies.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

If I die sometime in the next twenty-four hours, it will be because I was holding my breath while waiting for a good deal. It's been so many years since I've gotten a deal from Lego.com that I've actually wanted to brag about the next morning. My motto for buying Lego is, "It's not on sale if you have to hide the receipt". My new years eve is better spent with a bottle of Belgian beer, but my fingers are crossed that all of you find a bargain.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Everything apart from Pirates, Elves and Speed Champions is going to be on sale tomorrow for BRAND store and online, though the only promotion will be the Flower Cart with £50 or more being spent. (Also thought I'd mention that monthly mini build is next Thursday, 8th)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I hope the Bionicle sets are released tomorrow, if so then I can wave good bye to some of my money. :P

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I just checked the UK Sales and Deals section shortly after midnight. Despite the prominent maroon "Sale Now On" banner, there was just one set on reduction. 21107 Minecraft The End. A mere £3 off. And that had the dreaded "call to check product availability" warning.

Let's hope they're just a little late in getting started.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I would like to think the company has decided well in advance which items are to be marked down, and the website team (also comfortably ahead of time) have set the prices to change at midnight. As opposed to one bloke burning the midnight oil hacking the prices on the live site.

Gravatar
By in France,

The sale is live but the price display is delayed - sale prices will show once you click on individual product description.

Open up a separate window and set to Australia LEGO.com. All the 200+ items on sale there are the same items on sale for Europe.

No go for France and Belgium. That's okay, I'm up reading about AF447.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Still waiting....does anyone know for sure if the sets are released today in the UK?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Thanks @streeker - most helpful. Not all good news, as most of the items in the sale are "Call to check availability" but their customer services line is shut 'til over the New Year. Thanks, TLG :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Great heads up Streeker - the items are indeed reduced now but you have to click into every item to find out what and most are already sold out. The Marvel stuff went stupidly quick as did the Star Wars but I did manage to get a Santa Workshop for £41 so better than last year when I got nothing.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Bunch of the price reductions are on items they haven't had in stock for ages now too - £100 off Super Star Destroyer would be nice if it hadn't been out of stock for weeks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh crap! I should have read the first comment about clicking for the price reduction!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I've been checking LEGO.com for over an hour hoping that the new sets would appear. But only the adverts on the main page are up to date. Slave I and Detective's Office still say 'coming soon on 1st Jan', and no sign of Birds or other January releases not already up. I just can't understand why they can never have anything set up to become automatically available at 00:00 on a certain day...

Ah, I'm going to have to wait until the morning I guess... But won't be too impressed if Birds is back ordered by the time I get up! ;o)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does anyone know if the dc and Star Wars sets are definitely coming today?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm going to stay up till 2:30am and if no good then will wake up around 5 to see if the UCS Slave 1 is available..

But will not be happy if it's on back order till March!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Well it's 2pm Jan 1st in Sydney, Australia, and Slave 1 and Detective Office still show as 'Coming Soon'...

How did you spend New Year's Day 2015? Refreshing the lego.com website! Dagnabit!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Sales and deals finally working at 03:23 for those in the UK ... Not a lot that is of any interest to me but be aware 4 pages of "call to check availability". Come on Lego it's either available or not?

Detectives agency and Slave 1 both showing as "coming soon". Birds has flown the nest by the looks of it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

7am in the UK now and still no sign of any new sets, and Slave I and Detectives Office still not available to buy. Come on LEGO you are better than this! What is the delay? It seems I got up early for no reason :o(

If they're still not online by the afternoon here (by which time it'll be 2015 globally) I might just have to go to a brand store instead...

Gravatar
By in Hong Kong,

All I got was technical problems with my order. Took an hour, restarted from scratch, same result. The website is always unreliable for me during any promotion and that's why Lego only captures around 5% of my Lego spending at best. It's a real weak link.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is frustrating, I have absolutely no idea whether the new DC or BIONICLE sets even come out today. I may go into town and check the shops near me, though I don't have my hopes high. Amazon seems to be struggling as much as LEGO.com to get the new sets sorted out - its messages on new sets keep changing and it says stuff like Darkseid Invasion could take 5 weeks to deliver :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Still no new sets.... :(

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Goodmorning peoples. Well europe time, came here to see if it was just me O:-)
But good to know that we are more waiting for the "coming soon" label to go away.

And i live in Denmark, LEGO land even :-/
So yeah, come on lego, or i will go to a store as well, and thats a longer trip for me at least.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm after the DC sets, and have been continuously checking the website since midnight. Even the Slave I and Detective Office still have "Coming Soon", while on the front page both have "Buy Now". This is absolutely poor service from TLG.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is it double VIP points on the 5th ??

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I just called a local toy store and they don't have the new sets either, despite everything suggesting a Jan 1st release.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm starting to think as Slave I and Detective Office are under 'hard to find items' --->
should be renamed 'impossible to buy items'!

Sadly I live too far away from any Lego stores to get these otherwise.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

The moment of starting sales is complete misunderstanding.
And still no Birds.
LEGO LEGO.com is some prehistoric system.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Don't forget Birds and S13 minifigures are also on the front page of LEGO.com, but they (still) take you to a page not found. And yes, after talking to several Brickset members and LEGO store employees, the Star Wars, DC, Bionicle and Ninjago sets should definitely be out today in the UK.

A call to my local LEGO store may be in order. Not how I wanted to spend New Years Day if I am honest, but I want Birds before it goes out of stock...

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Nothing on sale here in Belgium. What's worse is that as you navigate the new sets on the site, it constantly changes itself to the UK version of the shop with sale and all. Talk about rubbing it in!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm waiting until LEGO shop stocks star wars and bionicle.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

i didnt get my flower cart automatically added for some reason. anyone else experience the same?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I just called the cardiff outlet and they say all the new Star Wars sets are now on the shelves.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I did not get my flower cart added either JayPeg (I am in Belgium) - I send an email to customer service though. Very frustrating that there are still not any deals, no slave1 no birds. I checked yesterday after midnight, this morning, couple of times already - getting really frustrated. But Happy New YEar to you all nevertheless.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Did not get the flower cart (ordered from Germany). Most of the stuff is "please ask if available", will have to wait till their customer service is available again.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So... 12:18 and the Sales and Deals is practically pointless... half the sets are virtually the same price and the only sets most fans would want are 'Call to check product availability'

Bionicle still has no sign of showing despite the Jan 1st global release :L

As for this double VIP points on the 5th, does it apply to the United Kingdom?

Gravatar
By in Poland,

^ Whole world is doing such things automatically and only LEGO insist to do this manually. I think that all these new sets starts when someone push some buttons tomorrow morning. I know that handmade is good thing, but not in this case.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does anyone fancy a big drunken get-together in a large building where they make beer? We could ask Lego to organise it . . . oh ;)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Also not getting the flower cart added to my shopping bag. Guess we'll have to wait until someone wakes up at LEGO.com...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Manchester Lego store opened at 11.30, with a pretty big queue. All new sets were available except Elsa's ice palace. There were a lot of sale sets which were flying off the shelves, and Slave 1 was very popular.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I've been to Brighton this morning with capnrex which has just about everything out except Frozen which sold out days ago.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

"Sale! Call to check product availability."

Gee, thanks. It's almost bait and switch territory.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Isn't 1st January a holiday everywhere? Why can't you wait until tomorrow?
Typical 1st world problem

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just on the train on the way back from Meadowhall. Looks like they had everything! Though If your after Slave One I'd check as I got the last one on the shelf and they didn't seem to be restocking it. It was crazy queuing out of the door!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Yooha
No need to insult everyone. Its just if they advertise a global January 1st release then I kind of expect January 1st. Not some broken website with tons of discounts on items it simply wont allow you to buy because its 'call to check product availability'

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Any news on Lego Architecture's Lincoln memorial as there is no indication on the UK website?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For info - Flower cart didn't get added to my basket in the early hours but checked out anyway and it's there on the email confirmation

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Releasy january 1.st.
Holiday or not. It is now january 1. and we cant buy what was promised, hence falls advertising.
"Coming soon" is not a valid sign to put up on a world wide store page.

Either we can buy it, or they should write, Release first working day in 2015.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ Exactly what I said to myself earlier. Indeed false advertising.

Is this the first year this sort of thing has happened? In New Year's gone past, there were never delays in getting new product on LEGO.com that were this long. And I don't want to go to my local LEGO Store if people are reporting queues out of the door. I'm sorry, but it seems that LEGO.com has turned into a bit of an unfunny farce in my opinion. I can't imagine it being difficult to write some sort of algorithm stating products X, Y and Z are to become available at a given time and date. Seems they do it for the shop home page updates, why not the products themselves?

For those who have gone to London Westfield today - what were the crowds like, do they have Birds in stock and is it likely to remain in stock until at least the end of the week?

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Typical Lego sale, discounts on sets that sold out months ago, whats the point?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Do any of you know if the UK get a Double VIP points on Monday?

Heard that the US do, not sure if the UK do and would really like to know...

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Also Belgium is the only country in Europe with no sales, dont know how lego get away with this..

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I was about to comment on a couple of things about LEGO.com the netherlands:
Sales and deals are mostly indicated: call for product availability
Flower card is not adding to my basket
New sets are not available (such as detectives office and birds project)
New themes not yet online

But since these points are mentioned in the 60+ comments above it would feel a bit redundant....

I can waint until tomorrow, but I do hope the sets I was waiting for wont be sold out by then.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Well, I spent my NYE on the Australian website; all the really cool sets - modulars etc. were marked down to fantastic discounts - except all have been SOLD OUT for weeks?

What's the point of marking down 20-30 sets which have been SOLD OUT for weeks .. it's a bit of a tease really .. "If these had been available look how much you could have saved .."

Hopefully double points on the 5th to get the Detective's Office and feel better about all those sets I paid full price for ...

Gravatar
By in Poland,

You're so optimistic. Jan. 5th will come and new sets still will be 'comming soon' and everything will be sold out by then and we will get nothing except 2 x VIP for ordering keychains and magnets. :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@johsuth12, Lincoln Memorial is out, I bought one at Brighton.

Sales wise, in Brighton, there were quite a few large Turtles sets and the AT-TE reduced by about 30% but other than that it was mostly tat.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well after reading this, I put my coat on and hot footed it to my local store. Got a Slave 1 - as did the nice chap in front of me - and a TIE Advanced. They had everything and I could have spent more but I showed restraint...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So the double VIP points on the 5th is a thing or not?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

LEGO.com orders can be placed tomorrow apparently for 2015 stuff

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ if you shopped on Black Friday using your VIP details you get double points on 5th according to email I received (I don't have that mail any more so this is from memory)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Somebody woke up at LEGO.com, flower cart was added to my shopping basket, so my order is on its way!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why isn't there any new star wars, ninjago, bionicle or super heroes?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If only I gad the spare cash and time to sit glued to the LEGO.com site or to stand in a queue in a non-existent local Lego shop, waiting in line to buy things I can't afford.
Thanks goodness I did neither!
(Although I am building alternative 42000 Street Rod build instead!)
Happy New Year!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

No queue-standing here, nor time spent sitting glued to any site. Just did something else in the meantime, enjoying my holiday! ;)

Gravatar
By in Poland,

So we don't get 30274 AT-DP in Europe?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ultra agents are online! No pics, but they are listed and available now!

Gravatar
By in Poland,

1. "Discover hidden clues and suprises! Detective's Office - BUY NOW!"
2. (LMB click)
3. "Coming Soon"
4. WUT?

I hope that this "soon" is not a Nine Inch Nails related "SOON", that is very well known to every NIN fan...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Anyone been down to the Cardiff store today? Any good sales? Was the Detectives Office available?

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

LEGO Minifigures Series 13 - Buy Now [click] Product Not Available
LEGO, you are a funny boy! XD

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Milton Keynes was doing brisk business today, with DO 10246 flying off the shelves and 75060 Slave 1 already flown! Birds in stock along with Research Institute and loads of 2015 sets. I had the last double decker couch off the shelf and saw a note that this is OOS until mid January. Like Huw I saw last years TMNT sets reduced (79117 Turtle Lair Invasion was £55.99 as I bought that) Couple of Star Wars sets in the sale and some small stuff and that was about it for the sale.

Credit card took a severe pounding!

Happy New Year everybody!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Star Wars sets are live in the UK!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Every possible outlet, physical and web based, that I could feasibly get to without the family thinking I've lost my marbles over Lego generally has out of stock old sets, almost empty, desolate shelves etc. On occasions such as these I become very envious of those that have a Lego store less than 4 hours away from them. However, new Argos catalogue soon? I think I can just about manage to wait for a few days for the ease of picking up sets on the way back from work.

EDIT: Good News! I refreshed my Lego Shop @Home page, which I probably should've done earlier, and there is now plenty more to order, including all the core Star Wars sets! No Bionicle or DC Superheroes yet though

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does the article update mean we won't be getting the AT DP poly bag in the UK?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ninjago sets are now listed.

EDIT: as well as S13 minifigs.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

This is becoming a joke and a PR disaster for Lego. It's the 2nd of Jan in Australia and I can order the DO from the US Lego LEGO.com shop (which says it is in stock) but when I log in and put the shipping address as Australia, it says they are unavailable and only adds the Flower Cart.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Nijago sets available but have no pictures. Seems strange. dont they have a staging environment. Publish semi-complete content. No communication, false OOS messages. Not managed in a way that I would have wanted. Was looking forward to this more than Christimas & New Years´s....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Also, Detective's Office is now showing 'available now' and can be ordered (in the UK at least).

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Whoops, I take back what I said earlier. I just managed to place 2 orders for the DO (they are limit 1 per person at the moment) and somehow managed to get 2 flower carts on my 1st order. They also now say in stock!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

ordered Detective's Office, flower cart included. Finally, still on january 1st. Close call...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The new Lego Red Creatures 3-in-1 is awesome! I picked up one today and its setting very nicely built (as a dragon) on my desk. Well worth the £12.99.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ok guys, I went to Westfield shopping centre today for the lego store. Picked up Darkseid invasion, Braniac attack, green lantern vs Sinestro and tie advanced prototype. The Darkseid Invasion sets had one left in stock but the store had the rest of the sets were fully in stock. They also had the new Ninjago, Ultra Agents and Bionicle sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ Great, thanks! Any specifics with the sale?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just tried to go and order Slave 1 and LEGO.com is down, with technical difficulties :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Picked up the Research Institute on sale for £11.19 in the Cardiff Store, along with the DO and many other sets too.
